Description

YouthREX invites you to join us on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 for YouthHACK 2017! This event is an exciting opportunity for youth, students, design thinkers, youth workers and youth sector community members to work collaboratively together to create solutions for complex issues and barriers faced by people and organizations in the youth sector.

How will it work?

  1. Participants will listen to five challenges to be ‘hacked’, presented by five youth organizations in the Southwestern Ontario region.

  2. Participants will then work in teams on the issue they’ve chosen to hack. Break out rooms and a light lunch will be provided. Teams will come up with a proposed solution through a series of facilitated activities.

  3. At the end of the day, teams will present their final prototype to the organization representatives, who will then pick one winning solution.

This event features challenges posed by:

  • Windsor Youth Centre on communicating the need for a youth shelter
  • mindyourmind on meaningful youth engagement that is action oriented
  • Fusion Youth Centre on combatting the stigma of the 'youth centre' stereotype
  • Twelve Canada on youth-led community development and burn out
  • Boys & Girls Club London on connecting youth with resources and opportunities

Click here to learn more about each of these organizations and challenges we'll be hacking on the 28th!
